Peace of mind is a state of calmness, harmony in thoughts, and over all gentleness. Peacefullness can be achieved in our daily lives by knowing how? Below is a short and interesting story by Thich Nath a reknowned Buddhist monk.

Types of Peace
Their are two types in peace. One is internal which can be controlled and other is external which depends on external factors and on others.
Inner peace
Inner peace refers to a state of being mentally and spiritually at peace, with enough knowledge and understanding to keep oneself strong in the face of discord or stress. Being “at peace” is considered by many to be healthy and the opposite of being stressed or anxious.
Peace of mind is generally associated with bliss, happiness and contentment.
Contentment and gratitude are most important ways to be mindful and be at peace.
External peace
External peace, mainly depends on your materialistic environment around you. People whom you work with or around you on daily basis can influence it. If you’re overly sensitive, even a small event or issues can change your inner calm. In such cases you should be able to differentiate between whats in your hands to be changed, over what’s not in your control. By learning this you can handle and accept for your own serenity.
Here’s a short story by Thich Nath Hanh. This story helps you to create inner calmness, understanding and acceptance for fellow human being’s.
As when we realize that we are not a drop in the ocean but collectively we are the ocean. When you learn this you don’t see others beings separate from you. Hence, forgiveness and acceptance becomes your second nature.
As a result we achieve compassion, inner well-being, harmony and true peace. This is also called as Spiritual peace.
